>> dan, the concern and the frustration out here is palpable. for those people here living among this destruction, those people who have been let back into their homes just blocks away from this blast site, pg&e they say needs to dislos where dangerous pipes are located. others say until pipes like the one here have valves installed that shut the gas off in emergencies, they say until that happens, they won't feel safe. >> i want them moved. everybody wants them moved. it's too dangerous. >> for 32 years, they have lived near the gas transmission line that exploded last week. and like most of their neighbors they had no idea home was on top of a ticking time bomb. now, they want to know more. >> do you have questions? >> nobody will answer them. >> many neighbors want to know where the gas line runs. why this pipe didn't have a shut off valve. and where exactly in the state the 100 lines are located.

it's a list so far pg&e refused to make public. >> i think there is a fight rite to know. >> jerry hill is among legislaters trying to get a hold of the high-risk pipe list with no success, he's drafting legislation requiring the company to install automatic shut off vaflz on pipes like the one that exploded last week. it took crews nearly two hours on thursday to shut off gas and flames raged throughout neighborhood oochl they should have and i think they must have remote way and ability bilt to turn that off w out that, that fire would have been out sooner and could have saved lives and we know could have saved property damage. >> the ntsb is investigating and why this line, like many had a manual shut off. >> it's one of the issues we'll be exploring this, is a large pipeline. pipes of that size are more

miles north of the san bruno rupture. pg&e says it positions a high risk of failure. the utility raised gas rates in 2009 to pay for that $5 million project. and the utility reform network is saying it's incumbent on regulators to get the system back into shape so people can rest in their homes, today, pg&e saying sometimes, a more urgent situation emerge that's has to be fixed first. >> some things happened when we're going down and a year hater maybe some other item becomes more emergent we need to fix. our first priority is taking care of things that maybe are dangerous today. because we want to make sure everybody is safe. >> and the work on that section of pipeline is not scheduled to happen until 2013. >> another day, another

at the damage this afternoon. he arrived from a flight from asia he'd been on a trade mission since this happened. governor schwartzeneggar offered prayers to those owe who lost so much. and a promise he's taking a hands on role into the investigation into what went wrong and who is to blame. >> and i'm on that. because i'm a big believer, not so much in pointing finger buzz only way we can learn from thing that's happened from mistakes that are made is by looking into it and acknowledging it. honestly, then making the changes to it doesn't happen again. >> the governor says he spoke with the president and requested a federal disaster declaration. >> during this tragedy we're learning of another story of heroism tonight. three men being credited with rescuing five elderly women frin side of their care home along vermont way. one of the care givers ran off after seeing explosions.

williams. in the early morning hours of sunday, july 18th byron williams was injured during a shootout with a chp. and officer says they made a traffic stop after watching him weave through lanes at excessive speeds wearing body armor with an arsenal of weapons in the car. the exchange of gunfire ripped through the metal and glass of cars. and this interview he says he wasn't speeding and fired back in self-defense. >> i have no intention of confrontation with police. that is is a misconception. my intention was to come down to the bay area and get in fights with police. >> the chp used a robot to retrieve evidence like this binder. he says it did not contain a hit list, only examples of corruption in government and business. >> and.
